Founded by Prof. Dr. Baris Akin, BAO Health is a healthcare company focused on guidance, coordination and continuity throughout the kidney transplant journey.

Prof. Dr. Baris Akin
Transplant surgeon · Founder of BAO Health
Prof. Dr. Baris Akin’s career brings together kidney transplantation, living donor surgery and the training of transplant professionals.
Following his medical and general surgical education at Ankara University, he completed transplant surgery training at Ohio State University. His work has included minimally invasive approaches to living donor surgery and international surgical education.
BAO Health carries that experience into a connected model of care, with the patient’s long-term wellbeing and the donor’s extraordinary contribution at its centre.

From your first questions to life after transplantation, our support stays connected. Follow-up, ongoing communication and guidance remain part of the journey.
For patients who already have a potential living donor, intelligent matching technology helps clinical teams explore paired kidney exchange with other patient–donor pairs. BAO Health does not find donors for patients without one; all proposed matches require clinical assessment.
